Dr. Ganda is Senior Physician and Director of the Lipid Clinic at Joslin Diabetes Center, and Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Ganda received his M.D. from the University of Rajasthan in India. He completed his residency at the All India Institute of Medical Science and Tufts University School of Medicine. Dr. Ganda did his clinical fellowship in endocrinology and metabolism at Boston VA Hospital and a research fellowship at Joslin and Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
A Co-Investigator in the 1993 landmark Diabetes Control and Complications Trial (DCCT), Dr. Ganda has been engaged in clinical diabetes research for more than three decades. Dr. Ganda is now Co-Investigator of Epidemiology of Diabetes Intervention and Complications, an ongoing long-term follow-up study to the DCCT. Dr. Ganda was also Co-investigator of the Diabetes Prevention Program.
Dr. Ganda has authored more than 120 publications. He is an Associate Editor of Endocrine Practice, and serves on the editorial board of Diabetes Research and Clinical Practice and is a reviewer for such journals as Diabetes, Diabetes Care, Diabetologia, Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism, JAMA, and The New England Journal of Medicine.
His awards and honors include Capp’s Research Scholar Award from Harvard Medical School, RV Sathe Oration Award at the Golden Jubilee of the Association of Physicians of India and the GP Moses Oration Award by the Research Society for the Study of Diabetes in India. |
