Biography: Marc S. Sabatine, MD, MPH
Marc Sabatine, MDMarc S. Sabatine, MD, MPH, is an Associate Physician in the Cardiovascular Medicine Division at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, an Investigator in the Thrombolysis in Myocardial Infarction (TIMI) Study Group, and an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School.

Dr. Sabatine graduated magna cum laude from Harvard College and received his medical degree magna cum laude from Harvard Medical School. He subsequently did his Internal Medicine residency, Chief Residency, and Cardiology fellowship at the Massachusetts General Hospital. During his research fellowship, he received a Master of Public Health degree from the Harvard School of Public Health.  Dr. Sabatine is board certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiology and attends on the general cardiology services and in the coronary care unit at both Brigham and Women’s Hospital and the Massachusetts General Hospital.

Dr. Sabatine’s research focuses on optimizing the treatment of patients with acute coronary syndromes through (1) clinical trials of novel pharmacotherapies, (2) use of existing biomarkers for risk stratification and discovery of novel biomarkers using proteomics and metabolomics, and (3) application of pharmacogenetics to cardiology.  Dr. Sabatine has a particular interest in antiplatelet and anticoagulant therapies.

Dr. Sabatine has authored over 120 original research articles, reviews, editorials, and book chapters.  Dr. Sabatine is the Principal Investigator on several grants from the National Institutes of Health. He is a member of the American Heart Association and a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology.  Dr. Sabatine has been awarded the American College of Cardiology Young Investigator Award and the Douglas P. Zipes Distinguished Young Scientist Award.
