| Biography: Eric Rimm, ScD |
Eric Rimm, ScD, is the Director of the Program in Cardiovascular Epidemiology at the Harvard School of Public Health and an Associate Professor of Epidemiology and Nutrition at the Harvard School of Public Health and at the Channing Laboratory at the Harvard Medical School. He has an active research program in the study of diet, lifestyle characteristics, and biomarkers in relation to obesity and cardiovascular disease. He has more than 400 peer reviewed publications and has mentored over 50 students, post-docs, and fellows during his 18 years on the faculty at Harvard. He has previously served on the Institute of Medicine’s Dietary Reference Intakes for macronutrients and he currently serves as one of 13 members on the advisor committee for the new 2010 U.S. Dietary Guidelines for Americans. He is also an associate editor for the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition and the American Journal of Epidemiology. (Boston, MA) |
