Dr. Samuel Dagogo-Jack is professor of medicine and chief of the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC). In addition to serving as the senior associate vice chancellor for Clinical Research at UTHSC, he is the A. C. Mullins Endowed Professor, and director of the Clinical Research Center. His research focuses on: the interaction of genetic and environmental factors in the prediction and prevention of prediabetes, diabetes, and related complications; regulation and metabolic significance of leptin in humans; and mechanisms of diabetes complications, including hypoglycemia-associated autonomic failure. Dr. Dagogo-Jack serves on the editorial boards of several scientific journals and has published 18 book chapters and more than 200 scientific papers and abstracts.
