Boca Raton, May 15, 2017 – The Cardiometabolic Health Congress is excited to announce the members of the new Senior Planning Committee for the 2017 – 2018 CMHC educational curriculum: Drs. Deepak Bhatt, Keith Ferdinand, JoAnn Lindenfeld, and Clyde Yancy. Working in conjunction with the CMHC Chairpersons, the Senior Planning Committee will lead the planning and development of the overall CMHC educational objectives and approach.

The CMHC educational curriculum is scientifically independent and guided by its Chairpersons and Senior Planning Committee: renowned international authorities on cardiometabolic disease and treatment. Each member brings unique therapeutic expertise in specific disease topics, coupled with extensive experience in clinical research, working with leading professional associations and organizations to set the standards and expectations for the prevention and treatment of cardiometabolic disease.

Deepak L. Bhatt, MD, MPH, currently serves as Chief of Cardiology at VA Boston Healthcare System, and Director of the Integrated Interventional Cardiovascular Program at both Brigham and Women’s Hospital and VA Boston Healthcare System. Dr. Bhatt is a Senior Investigator in the TIMI Study Group, and Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. He has authored and co-authored over 500 publications, serves on several editorial boards, and has been a visiting lecture across the globe on topics ranging from premature coronary artery disease to the role of inflammation and genetics in heart attacks.

Keith C. Ferdinand, MD, FACC, FAHA is Professor of Medicine at the Tulane University School of Medicine, and the Tulane Heart and Vascular Institute. Previously serving as Professor of Clinical Pharmacology at Xavier University, and Clinical Professor of Medicine at Emory University, Dr. Ferdinand is a specialist in clinical hypertension: certified by the American Society of Hypertension.

JoAnn Lindenfeld, MD is the current Director of the Heart Failure and Transplantation Programs, with decades of experience in the direction and oversight of large, multicenter randomized clinical trials in heart failure and heart transplantation. Dr. Lindenfeld leads the clinical research efforts of the group, dedicated to the reorganization of advanced heart failure and transplantation services within the Department of Medicine Division of Cardiovascular Medicine, ultimately improving delivery of treatment options for patients with heart failure.

Clyde W. Yancy, MD, MSc, MACP is a cardiologist at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, while also the chief of Cardiology Medicine and the Magerstadt Professor of Medicine at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. Dr. Yancy has received extensive recognition for clinical research and expertise in the field of heart failure, with over 250 peer-reviewed manuscripts, book chapters, and editorials.
