Ronald D’Agostino, DO, FACC, FACP, is an assistant professor of medicine at the New York University School of Medicine, the New York Institute of Technology and the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra University. He is a cardiologist specializing in clinical cardiology and cardiovascular imaging at Long Island Cardiovascular Consultants in Lake Success, New York.

Dr. D’Agostino is a graduate of Boston College (BS) and the NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine (DO). He completed his residency in internal medicine and fellowship in cardiology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine’s Long Island Jewish Medical Center where he also served as chief medical resident. Dr. D’Agostino has extensive experience in all aspects of clinical cardiology and cardiovascular imaging. He has been a principal site investigator on multiple clinical trials, including the ASPECT, DEFINE, ADVANCENT, PALM, CHAMP and SMART-ADHERE studies. He has also been involved as principal site investigator for several studies assessing the cardiovascular outcomes of employing novel drugs for patients with type 2 diabetes, including the TECOS, EXSCEL, THEMIS and EMPEROR trials. Dr. D’Agostino has received the AMA Physician’s Recognition Award in 1996, 1999, 2002, 2005, and 2008. In 2009 he was awarded the Distinguished Alumnus of the Year Award by NYIT’s College of Osteopathic Medicine, and since 1997 he has been annually awarded the “Top Doctor” award in Castle Connolly Guide’s “How to Find the Best Doctors in the New York Metro Area.”
