About

Susan G. Rodder, RDN is an Associate Professor in the Department of Clinical Nutrition at UT Southwestern Medical Center, specializing in: delivery of medical nutrition therapy to preventive cardiac patients, patient-centered application of practical dietary recommendations, and technology approaches for sustainability of dietary recommendations. 

She has served as the dietician in the UTSW Preventive Cardiology Program since 2006 and is a key resource for nutritional education and programming for the UTSW community.  Susan coordinates UTSW’s annual Heart-Health fairs, contributes to UTSW’s MedBlog, provides campus wide Lunch n Learn sessions, and, in 2020, provided ‘Cooking & Coping’ virtual demonstrations during the pandemic.

Susan has various academic publications and has lectured at Preventive Cardiology CME programs, multiple dietetic regional conferences, and at the National Society of Cardiovascular CT meeting.  She is currently involved in a research project to implement and improve teaching of medical nutrition therapy for cardiac patients to first-year medical students.  In 2019, she received the inaugural UTSW School of Health Professions Clinical Excellence Award.
