About

Rajat Deo, MD, MTR, is an assistant professor of medicine at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, where he is also a cardiologist for the Department of Athletics. He received his medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School, then went on to complete an internship and residency in internal medicine at the University of Texas. He then completed two fellowships, one at the University of California Division of Cardiology and one at the John Hopkins Hospital Division of Cardiology (Electrophysiology) in Baltimore, MD, before receiving his masters of science in translational research from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine.

Dr Deo is a member of the American College of Cardiology, American Heart Association, and the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute’s Sudden Cardiac Death Prevention Working Group. He is also a reviewer for a number of peer-reviewed journals, including Circulation, American Heart Journal, and Journal of the American College of Cardiology. Dr Deo has been invited to lecture at Annual Scientific Sessions for the Heart Rhythm Society and American College of Cardiology. He was also formerly the team cardiologist for the NBA’s Philadelphia 76ers.
