Aldo J. Peixoto, MD is Professor of Medicine (Nephrology), Associate Chair for Ambulatory Services Operations and Quality (Department of Internal Medicine), Clinical Chief of the Section of Nephrology at the Yale University School of Medicine, and Co-Director of the Hypertension Program at the Yale New Haven Hospital Heart & Vascular Center in New Haven, CT. He is an active clinician in general consultative nephrology and hypertension, and his most distinctive expertise is in the care of patients with resistant hypertension, secondary causes of hypertension, and cardiovascular dysautonomia. As an investigator, his work has centered on the interplay between hypertension, kidney disease and vascular disease, with a focus on the study of systemic hemodynamics, vascular function and BP measurement/monitoring in CKD and ESRD. He is an associate editor for Blood Pressure Monitoring, and has served on the editorial boards of several other publications in Nephrology and Hypertension. He lives in Hamden, CT with his wife and two children.
