About

For more than 20 years, Dr. R. Preston Mason has served as a faculty member of the Cardiovascular Division at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts. Mason is also president and co-founder of Elucida Research, a biotechnology research institute. He has received many awards for his research in cardiovascular pharmacology and teaching over the past 30 years, including an honorary doctorate in science from his alma mater, Gordon College. He serves as a consultant for industry including for Amarin, Corp, and is the president and co-founder of Elucida Research LLC, a private biotechnology firm, in Beverly, Massachusetts.

Dr. Mason has been a faculty member at different medicals schools, including the University of Connecticut School of Medicine and the Medical College of Pennsylvania and Hahnemann University (now Drexel University College of Medicine). Since 2001, Dr. Mason has been on the faculty of the Harvard Medical School affiliated hospital, Brigham and Women’s, where he participates in various education and research programs. He has published over 250 scientific research articles, book chapters, and abstracts and is a frequent lecturer at national and international meetings.
