CMHC Pulse Blog

Officially launched in January 2014 by the FH Foundation, FIND FH® is a specific data mining initiative that uses multiple types of healthcare datasets to identify probable individuals with familial hypercholesterolemia, or FH, and provides a resource for healthcare professionals to encourage screening.

The initiative consists of three elements, the first of which is a lab and claims algorithm based on a database that the FH Foundation developed of more than 89 million Americans with cardiovascular disease. An EHR (electronic health records) algorithm and HCP/individual engagement comprise the second and third elements of the FIND FH® initiative, respectively.

Initially planned as a 3-year long initiative, Kelly Myers, Chief Technology Officer for the FH Foundation, believes that based on the success seen thus far that the initiative will continue beyond the 3-year mark.

To learn more about FIND FH®, plan on attending CMHC West March 4-5, 2016 at the Marriott Marquis in San Francisco where Kelly Myers will be joined by Joshua Knowles, MD, PhD as they present “Big Data Meets Lipid Management: The FIND FH® National Initiative,” on Saturday, March 5 from 11:20am-12:00 pm.
