About

Amy Peterson MD, MS is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Pediatric Cardiology at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine in Public Health. She is a board-certified pediatric cardiologist and a certified clinical lipidologist. She founded and directs the Pediatric Preventive Cardiology Clinic, where she and her team treat children with risk factors for premature heart disease, particularly cholesterol disorders. Her research interests include implementation of pediatric cholesterol screening and improving diagnosis and treatment of pediatric Familial Hypercholesterolemia.

Education and Training

Dr. Peterson earned her medical degree from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health (formerly UW Medical School), Madison, WI. She completed her internship and residency at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, WI and her pediatric cardiology fellowship at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, Philadelphia, PA.
