Dr. Eugenia Gianos is professor of medicine at Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell Department of Cardiology. She conducts research to improve preventive care in both inpatient and outpatient settings through innovative medical and lifestyle therapies. Throughout her career, she has developed programs and conducted clinical research in the fields of preventive cardiology, behavioral health programs, cardiovascular risk assessment and risk-factor optimization. She served as principal investigator for the IMPACT trial which assessed the effect of a prevention consult and behavioral intervention in reducing cardiovascular risk in patients undergoing cardiovascular procedures. She also investigates various clinical questions through an IRB-approved registry used for determining the most significant cardiovascular risk factors in patients with heart failure.
